If you feel you need an advocate, we recommend reaching out to a career counselor or a disability advocate who has experience in the field of employment accommodation. You should be aware that often, employers are more than willing to work with you to figure out how to accommodate you.

As you prepare to return to your former position, keep in mind that there will be a learning curve for all parties involved.
